A few things happened lately.
Yes, its undeniable. The past may be a history, but there are certain moments in life, you wish it would last longer than it should be. You long for it to be with you, for your whole lifespan. Be it friends or family members, teachers, random strangers, or even places being torn down to give way to rapid developments. There are values in such people and places, and even things, that makes you cherish them . You want to store them somewhere so they won't turn rusty or forgotten, so you placed them right in your heart and mind. It'll come to you when you're down and gives you the determination to move on despite the hurdles you have to face. Failure is a shadow of success, one have said. You can give it a try to test its credibility.
I owned a memory box; a couple of them. I rummage up my boxes frequently, especially when life is moving too fast and I have to pace up with it. All those images and moments come to me, all at once. The reminiscent is so pure and sweet, I will give a pathetic smile once in a while. I might catch a flu due to the dust that was collected over the years, but its worth the ride.
I was out with Aqilah and Asyikin yesterday, to collect our testimonials and catch up a little. Well, there isn't anything new about Aqilah, since I meet her every Sunday. Somehow, I knew Rachel was going to be in school as well, shooting balls. We couldn't talk much cause she was having a game but it was nice hearing her shout my name across the court. When she gave me a rang, she had to end every sentence with a "bitch". I miss those times.
My testimonial cracked me up. Here are some doubtful informations:
1. ...and second position in the school's English Poetry Competition in Secondary Three.
Truth is, it was an online competition conducted by a global organization. I won some kind price but I did not claim it because I had to post all many informations to the U.S or something and attend an award ceremony there. Money?
2. Nurzawani is a dynamic and charismatic student who is popular among her peers.
Popular? Wijaya is being too nice, isn't she? Or she is unaware that many of my school mates dislike me for whatever reasons that I'm not quite sure of.
3. Nurzawani was a dedicated member of Badminton Club. She worked well with her teammates and displayed determination and commitment during competitions and training.
Pack of lies. Since when was I able to work well with ah lians? And when was I dedicated. Aqilah agreed; " Dedicated? Haha, always never come for training every Wednesday and used Higher Malay as an excuse." Now, thats the truth.
I received a text message from someone I vaguely know. She claimed she was from the radio course I attended. I could not remember her well though. In the message she said my essay was really good and even listed down my full name and school. The essay was named, "Tragedi Malam Minggu". According to her, my essay was in her school's book of students' works. It was written when I was in Secondary One. The thing is, I have wrote at least hundreds of essays and compositions for practice sake and I can't remember any.
Its always a pleasure to write for Mdm Maimon and Miss Joy Chen for English and Malay compositions. Its when I have the liberty to let my imagination run free. Its the space for me to voice out my thoughts. The sad case; I can no longer write a Malay composition like I used to. Its sad. Its as though I have lost a part of me. I want to change for the better, but I want those my capabilities to stick with me; one of the values I mentioned above.
Oh. Happy Birthday, Dad.
I love you so.
